Nancy Watzman is director of Lynx LLC, based in Denver, Colorado. She is a communications and organizational consultant and strategist specializing in developing and managing collaborations and partnerships to support journalists, technologists, and researchers in developing trustworthy and effective local news coverage, countering online dis- and mis-information, conducting investigations, and supporting democracy.
She has managed pop-up and start-up editorial, data, and engagement projects, including a local fellowship program with First Draft, NYU Ad Observatory, Political TV Ad Archive, Knight Commission on Trust, Media, and Democracy on Medium, and Political Party Time. She has also worked on projects designed to strengthen local news ecosystems to help meet the demands of the moment. She is former director of and remains an advisor to the Colorado Media Project.
She has written for numerous publications, including The Washington Monthly, Harper's Magazine, and The Nation, and is co-author of Is That a Politician in Your Pocket? Washington on $2 Million a Day (2004) and a contributor to The Buying of the Congress, by the Center for Public Integrity (1998). She is also an accomplished speaker who has presented at gatherings of NICAR, Investigative Reporters & Editors, Journalism and Women Symposium, the American Bar Association, and more.
